Len tells Joyce the Department have given them a replacement officer - a certain Dennis Cruickshank. Bobbie proves her ability and wins a bet with Peter. Marlene is conned by Lou into agreeing to take on any challenger at cards. Frank comes out of solitary and pesters Lou and then Pixie. Frank tries it on with Lexie, but just gets laughed at for his trouble: Lou is annoyed at him for wasting his time flirting with any \"piece\" that passes. Myra has a visitor: it is Ahmed, who begs her to try to make her understand he is sorry. He says he genuinely wants to try again to have an equal relationship with Yemil and is upset to hear that Yemil seems determined to let herself die in payment for causing a death in a supposed \"custom\" unknown to any tradition in the world anywhere ever.
I am sorry but this show is making no sense to me!For 4 seasons this successful admirable career woman Olivia Pope had a secret she was dating the married President of the USA. The fact brought her unhappiness shame and guilt and she spent 6/7 scandal years on her own unable to move on because of him.The idea of a sitting president getting a divorce and the affair coming into the open was presented as political and career suicide for both of themThen comes end of S4 and Fitz says to hell with it and throws Mellie outThe season 5 I thought I was going to watch was a Presidential divorce and the coming out of their relationship and most importantly how the Star of the show navigates her professional and personal life in the eye of this storm , now that she is the first girlfriend. That would have being intriguing to watch especially as it has never happened in America in real life.Something that could have taken one if not two seasons to unfold and would have made for compelling television was instead rushed over in 8 episodes.DIVORCE One episode and it was done!DATING Did we even see them dateCOMES OUT ON NATIONAL TV to talk about Fitz as her great love. Weeks later she decides he is not and moves out!EFFECT ON HER BUSINESS Barely mentioned. And what was the compelling tale they rushed over everything to tellMellie running for president.Jake being head of the NSAThere is nothing the scandal writers can come up with that could rival the current real life Presidential race.Sorry they are just not that good!!And strangely enough by rushing over everything they made Olivia very unlikable!E509 would have worked and actually have made sense if it had happened half way through or at the end of S6.The ratings are way down so apparently a lot of people are just as confused as I am!!
For anyone who was following the discussion about Janis in the comments on episode #509, SF Weekly has a (frankly enormous) article about the subject of trans kids and puberty blockers. The kid at the center of the article was adopted at birth by a lesbian couple. -07-11/news/girl-boy-interrupted/1
Does anyone remember the episode that AB created showing the characters as opposite to themselves Sparrow chugging diet rotsi, Mo being worried about people at work knowing she is a lesbian, etc. It was hilarious! I think it was created for an April fools joke. Ah here it is! Page 145 of the Indelible. That would be my fear of DTWOF turning into a TV series.

But the wild card in this high stakes scenario seems to be Lydia Rodarte-Quayle . She's enough of a geek that she makes Walt seem like an OG. But appearances can deceive. Unlike Gus she doesn't conflate money with revenge. But unlike Walt, she doesn't conflate money with pride. Her motivations are purely financial. She's shown that she's willing to run up a body count if it'll benefit the bottom line. And that's what will make her a unique--and formidable--opponent for Walter White over these next six episodes

[00:02:31] It's pretty clear that there's a small percentage of the population that just wants to kill as many people as possible before they leave this world. Fortunately, most nihilistic killers like these don't have access to nuclear weapons. But what if they had access to something equally dangerous And what if everybody had access to that Well, Rob Reid has done a little bit of science fiction thinking and a lot of research and we're talking about gene splicing, genetic engineering stuff that we're doing all the time. We're going to discuss the coming advances in this technology, how they could be used to create a superbug that could wipe out millions of people in kind of agonizing and disgusting ways, and how this technology might soon be available to pretty much every academic institution or even the garage of one of your neighbors. This episode is terrifying. It is fascinating at the same time. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed creating it for you. And of course, we're also going to talk about the upside of synthetic biology as well. So it's not all doom and gloom. In fact, we end on a high note as we always like to do here on the show.
[00:06:30] Rob Reid: And frankly, when we did that last episode three to six months, whatever it was before COVID hit, I myself took great comfort from the fact that I'm a science fiction writer.
[00:33:48] This episode is sponsored in part by Active Skin Repair. I refuse to use toxic chemicals, both on myself, especially on my kids. When you get a wound, it would be great if there was an all-in-one solution that could help support the natural healing process and keep your skin clean. Active Skin Repair is a multifunctional, all-natural clinically proven skin repair product that we've been using for cuts, rashes, sunburns, insect bites, athlete's foot. We use it on Jayden's little bum. He's constantly falling and getting scrapes, not on his bum, but you know, there's diaper rash down there and stuff. Active Skin Repair has just been amazing for this. It includes the same molecule hypochlorous acid, not the hydrochloric acid. You may be thinking of. This is produced in your white blood cells. Whenever you get a wound it's also used in hospitals and it's completely non-toxic. There's no sting, always great for kids and adults. Safe around your eyes, ears, mouth. Perfect for you and your little one. Comes in a spray and a gel. Kills the bacteria and viruses, fungus while supporting the body's natural healing process. Don't just take it from me. Check out their Amazon reviews with over 1200 five-star reviews.
